On July 26, OnePlus opened up its invite reservation system for the OnePlus 2, its latest smartphone and “flagship killer.” It only took a matter of days before the company confirmed that its reservation list had crossed 1 million sign-ups. Now, given another week of time for people to sign up for the new device, that number has more than doubled. It’s now been confirmed that the sign-up list now has almost 2.5 million names on it. The list works like this: Input your email address, and then as a device/invite becomes available, you’ll get an email giving you an invite to buy a OnePlus 2, as long as there are unused invites. The interest in the OnePlus 2 is hard to deny, but whether or not nearly 2.5 million people will actually buy the OnePlus 2 when given the opportunity remains to be seen. Still, the company has to be more than pleased with the results that their latest smartphone has garnered so far.
