After its official international launch yesterday, OnePlus today unveiled the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus Bullets Wireless in India. OnePlus dominates the premium smartphone market in India after Apple where it has beaten the likes of Samsung, Google, and LG to gain a strong foothold in the market.
OnePlus enjoys a huge fan following in the country which was evident from the fact that the Indian launch event was attended by over 2,000 folks. As for the OnePlus 6, its specs remain the same as the international variant. This means we are looking at a 6.28-inch FHD+ 19:9 Optic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6/8GB RAM, 64/128/256GB of storage, and “daily water resistance.” The phone has a glass design which makes use of Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and rear. The fingerprint sensor is located at the rear right below the dual-camera setup. The dual camera setup houses a 16MP f/1.7 primary shooter with OIS accompanied by a secondary 20MP f/1.7 shooter. The sensor is bigger than what is found on the OnePlus 5T which should help improve its low-light performance when coupled with OIS. Other camera related features include Portrait mode, hybrid zoom, and the ability to add effects to Portrait photos. At the front, there is a 16MP shooter which is also used for face unlock. Other specs include dual-SIM connectivity, USB-C connectivity, NFC, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, headphone jack, and a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge support. The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS 5.1 onboard. The latest version of OxygenOS comes with a few additional tweaks and enhancements that help enhance the overall user experience. This includes iPhone X-like gestures which OnePlus had first debuted with the OnePlus 5T. The Alert Slider functionality has also been tweaked and it now toggles between Silent, Vibrate, and Normal. The OnePlus 6 will be available in three different colours: Midnight Black, Silk White and Mirror Black. The handset is priced at Rs 34,999, with the 128GB variant coming in at Rs 39,999.
OnePlus Bullets Wireless
The OnePlus Bullets Wireless are wireless bluetooth earbuds from OnePlus. They are not an AirPods competitor since both earbuds are connected to each other using a wire. They also feature a USB-C port which is used for fast charging. OnePlus says just 10 minutes of charging is enough to ensure the Bullets Wireless last for over 5 hours.
The buds are magnetic and you can power off the Bullets Wireless by joining them together. You can accept a call or resume playing back music by pulling the two earbuds apart when they are magnetically linked. For sound quality, the Bullets Wireless feature aptX HD support and offer a wider sound stage than other competing earphones. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless is priced at Rs 3,999.
