A new OnePlus 7 Pro leak has thrown a few surprises about this upcoming monster of a smartphone from OnePlus. The upcoming handset will feature a QHD+ Super AMOLED display making it the first time since the inception of the OnePlus series that the company has switched to a QHD+ resolution panel on its devices.
What’s even more interesting is this Super AMOLED panel will have a 90Hz refresh rate. All other AMOLED panels on smartphones feature a 60Hz refresh rate, with only some phones like the Razer Phone and ASUS ROG Phone featuring a higher refresh rate display. A higher refresh rate will offer better UI smoothness and reduce lag and latency. I simply cannot stress the importance of a higher refresh rate panel on a smartphone as it can lead to massive improvements. It is also more battery intensive so it is likely that OnePlus will be using a custom display driver to adjust the refresh rate on the fly for energy efficiency purposes. Other specs which have leaked today of the OnePlus 7 Pro include the handset coming with a 4,000mAh battery with 30W Warp charging, USB 3.1 connectivity, stereo speakers, and triple cameras at the rear. The primary shooter will be joined by a telephoto shooter along with an ultra-wide angle lens which is quickly becoming commonplace in premium smartphones. It’s clear that OnePlus is going to offer all the bells and whistles with the OnePlus 7 Pro and offer only modest upgrades with the OnePlus 7. The specs of the OnePlus 7 Pro make it clear that OnePlus is finally ready to take on flagship phones from the likes of the Samsung, Huawei, and others. What are your thoughts on the leaked OnePlus 7 Pro specs? Impressed?
