OnePlus today announced the OnePlus 7T at an event in India. It brings some major upgrades and enhancements not just over the OnePlus 7 but also the more expensive OnePlus 7 Pro.

The OnePlus 7T is a pretty big upgrade over the OnePlus 7. The latter did not really bring much to the table and was just a refreshed OnePlus 6T with updated internals and primary camera module. This time around OnePlus is doing the right thing by ensuring the OnePlus 7T is a cut down version of the OnePlus 7T Pro. The OnePlus 7T now comes with a Fluid AMOLED display, but it continues to have a dewdrop notch, unlike the OnePlus 7T Pro which features a pop-up selfie camera. OnePlus has reduced the size of the notch by over 30% so there’s that. Despite the lower resolution, the display on the OnePlus 7T is as good as the one on the OnePlus 7T Pro. Not only does it support HDR10+, it can also reach brightness levels of up to 1,000 nits when under direct sunlight.
