Oppo today has released the first public beta of an AOSP ROM based on Android 5.0.2 for the Find 7 and Find 7a.
Oppo has been painfully slow in updating its devices to the latest version of Android, and to reduce the frustration of Find 7 and 7a customers waiting for their Lollipop update, the company has released an AOSP build of Android for them.
Since the ROM is based on the AOSP version of Android 5.0.2, it does not pack any of the features seen on Oppo’s ColorOS. Oppo states that the ROM has been developed for experienced users who are big fans of stock Android and want a light, fast, stable and up to date Android experience on their Find 7 or 7a. The ROM is currently in beta, so you are bound to run into some issues while using it as a daily driver on your handset. Oppo only list some graphical issues with the recovery as the known issues with the ROM, so it is likely that most bugs you encounter will be minor though. Oppo Find 7 and 7a owners can download the ROM from here.
